4th of July Pics

Have a few families interested in some summer family pics... so an idea I am tossing around is trying to capture some families under the firelit sky of the 4th of July! What do ya think?

So... need a photographer?

So I am just starting out and I am finding that the key to success is networking… Well of course right? Here’s where that gets tough for me… I have a 3yr old and a 17 month old girls- so I go, like, no where! Which I find out is also unusual these days. Stay at home moms are a thing of the past- which means so am I! Awesome! Maybe I’ll mingle more when my first starts preschool! I have one brother that lives 5 states away and married to a man who’s family is also spread all over…lets just say I don’t have a dynamic family network! I am also the least of a sales person… in fact if I even feel that I might put any pressure on someone to call me- I will absolutely avoid telling them that I am doing photography! Great for business huh? I am finally starting to be honest with myself that I might be a bit cynical – I somehow feel that just by nonchalantly mentioning that I am a photographer…to say… an engaged couple, a pregnant woman or even a high school junior/senior makes me out to be a sales narcissist- hungry for their appointment! Which is also completely ludicrous, because, I am! If I could only muster up the courage to tell these people that I am a photographer!!!!  So my goal for the summer is to start approaching people! Meet people- mingle- talk about what I love- hope they respond and who cares if they don’t, right?!? Right! Because it is what I love to do… regardless of the response!  It is the doing it at a price…that’s the cause of my trepidations! So I am putting on my big girl pants and going for it!

Finally getting started……

Well I figured I might as well blog starting- well…. Now! This way I can look back and track my hopeful “progress.” So I have been anxious to snap some great pics of this adorable family ever since out lil girls became besties in gymnastics! They had a lot of great places right at their home- to get some gorgeous pics! I love taking family pictures right at the clients home or near their home because it naturally provides such a relaxed comfort. A few more family shoot coming in the weeks ahead and a wedding!!!!!!! Looking forward to sharing…….stay tuned!
